Here are some pictures to show you what I have been doing

I was putting the mud texture on the ceiling.

I think it came out Pretty good the ceiling texture that is.

The next few show the difference in the color between the white primer and the paint. It is slightly pinkish. Some of the pictures exagerate the pink depending on the light on them.
